What is the NAERIC Advantage®?
The NAERIC Advantage® is an incentive program for horses bred by NAERIC member ranchers and registered with NAERIC.
Over 56,000 horses in North America are registered with NAERIC and are eligible to earn NAERIC Advantage rewards at approved events.
How do I earn NAERIC Advantage® money?
Exhibiting your NAERIC horse at any of the approved events and meeting the conditions specified for that event, makes you eligible for
NAERIC Advantage® money.
How is an event approved for the NAERIC Advantage®?
Approval is based largely on availability and quality of results. Show results MUST identify the horse exhibited and be readily accessible on
an established web site. For owners of breed registered horses such as AQHA, APHA, and ApHC, show exhibitors must provide NAERIC with
the current year show record from the registry at the end of the show season.
What types of events are approved?
Events have been approved to include a broad range of disciplines and levels of competition. NAERIC horses have been shown in all types
of competitions ranging from local to world in scope.
Where are the approved events located?
Events approved for NAERIC Advantage® added money cover 49 states, most Canadian provinces, and Europe. Additional events are
continually approved throughout the year.
There are not any approved events in my area. Can events in my area be approved?
Absolutely! Any owner of a NAERIC horse can recommend an event for NAERIC Advantage® added money. NAERIC Applications for event
recommendations are available on our web site, www.naeric.org. The completed online NAERIC Event Application with the event’s website
address is generally all that is needed. NAERIC and an independent equine committee will research each event for suitability for NAERIC
Advantage® approval.
What breeds of horses are registered with NAERIC?
Thousands of quality horses are registered with NAERIC representing more than 20 light, draft, and sport horse breeds.
What classes and disciplines are included in the NAERIC Advantage®?
Some of the disciplines included in receiving NAERIC Advantage® money are: hunt classes, western classes, barrel racing, cutting, ranch
horse, roping, reining, pole bending, trail, working cow horse, dressage, eventing, jumping, racing, team penning, halter classes, and line
classes.
How much can I earn at each event?
NAERIC Advantage® money is allocated on a case-by-case basis for each event. Details of NAERIC Advantage® added money are listed for
each event on the NAERIC web site, www.naeric.org. Events in Canada will be paid in Canadian funds; events in the United States will be
paid in US funds. Events in Europe will be paid in US funds at the current rate of exchange on the day of the event.
I only receive points and ribbons at shows I attend? How does the NAERIC Advantage® help me?
Exhibitors, earning only ribbons or points at approved shows, can earn Advantage® dollars for placing first – third.
Does the NAERIC Advantage®reward horses registered in breed association incentive programs?
The NAERIC Advantage® matches the owner's portion, dollar for dollar, of breed association incentive funds such as AQHA Incentive Fund,
APHA Incentive Fund, ApHC Breeders Trust Fund, and ApHCC Incentive Fund. A copy of the check and stub are required for this payout.
If I qualify to receive NAERIC Advantage® money, how do I apply?
Applications are available at www.naeric.org. Events are conveniently listed by location or date. When submitting your first application for a
class in which you earned NAERIC Advantage money, find the event, and click on "Apply for NAERIC Advantage Rewards". At this time, you
will be directed to create your account. Payout applications are submitted electronically after you create an account with NAERIC.
What documentation is needed when applying for NAERIC Advantage® money?
- A copy of the breed registration papers if your horse is registered with a breed registry. Papers verify your ownership and help us keep markings of each horse updated.
- Color photographs showing all markings of your horse if it is not registered with a breed registry, and verification of the microchip number by a veterinarian.
- A copy of the prize check from the event or a signed receipt if paid in cash.
- Owners of AQHA, APHA, and ApHC registered horses, competing in breed association approved events, need to provide NAERIC with their current year's exhibitor show record from the breed association.
Is there a deadline for submitting NAERIC Advantage® Applications for bonus money?
Yes. Applications should be submitted within 30 days after the event. Event Applications for NAERIC Advantage® money received after the
30 day period will be paid on a case-by-case basis. All documentation must be uploaded to your account by Dec. 1 of the event year.
When will I receive my NAERIC Advantage®check?

issued for all applications.
